Mission Statement

The mission of the Modern Mystery School is to create World Peace by empowering individuals to find peace within themselves.

Modern Mystery School is in service to all of humanity to assist in the ascension of the human consciousness on this planet. This is a mission the school and its lineage holders have been working towards for over 3,000 years. The purpose of the school is to help people achieve their highest spiritual potential in this physical life, while living a life of joy, fulfillment and love.

The school provides people with the tools and teachings they need in order to empower themselves and realize that they are their own greatest teacher, so that they may remember who they truly are

We believe that all beings are of divine origin - that we all come from God - therefore we all have this Godly divinity within each of us. We believe that all people are, in essence, Gods & Goddesses themselves

Lineage

The Modern Mystery School is the administrative and organizing body that maintains and expands the purity of the Lineage of King Salomon

Lineage is the essential key to the legitimacy, integrity and authority of the Modern Mystery School. Lineage is like a cook book, with specific recipes or protocols being handed down for generations. The integrity and effectiveness of the lineage lies in its preservation, in other words, not changing the teachings, tools, protocols, etc.

The lineage of the Modern Mystery School dates back thousands of years, with a written and traceable line of lineage holders to King Salomon. As a hermetic, alchemical lineage, the power and magick dates back many thousands of years prior, however we honor the legitimacy of the traceable lineage, as well as the tremendous gift of the work done by King Salomon by using his name.

The lineage has been preserved in authenticity through many generations of lineage holders, through the sharing of keys from teach to student and the holy process of initiation.

Initiation in an unbroken lineage, empowers the initiate to engage in the Great Work: to create a better world, living in accordance with one's highest potential and true purpose. Great masters such as Nikola Tesla, Mother Theresa, Winston Churchill, Leonardo Da Vinco, Joan of Arc, Cleopatra and Jesus Christ have received invitation into the mystery school tradition, leading them to fulfill their promise to God while living on this earth.

Origin

Spirituality is not new, humans have been pursuing spiritual knowledge and the understanding of God, the self, the universe and everything since the beginning of time. Mystery School lineages have operated around the globe and throughout time to varying degrees. You can learn more about these mystical lineages in the 12 Ancient Mystery Schools class. The purpose of a mystery school has always been to preserve and maintain specific knowledge and magickal mastery to serve the progression of mankind.

In 1997, upon receiving the energetic keys of the North American Mystery School, and after a lifetime of study, Founder Gudni Gudnason opened the doors of the Lineage of King Salomon to the public, calling it Modern Mystery School. A 7/7/97 planetary gateway allowed certain energies to come to the planet which shifted the collective consciousness in such a way that mankind became more ready than ever to begin working towards the self actualization necessary to move humanity towards world peace. Because of his work in founding the public facing Modern Mystery School, we honor Gudni with the title Founder. As leadership has grown, and more initiates are operating in higher orders, we have also delineated for him the title of Hierophant to honor his lifetime work for the expansion and preservation of the lineage.

Leadership

Modern Mystery School is a school of leaders. Endorsing the tenets of free will, sovereignty, and discernment, the school trains its adepts to become the "captain of their ship", leading their lives from a place of empowerment, peace, kindness, integrity, and honor.

As with any professional and organizational body, there is a hierarchical structure that maintains a flow of effective administration in its application. Based upon the foundation of merit and worthiness (aka preparedness), any individual is welcome to rise to higher levels of responsibility and leadership within the school.

Modern Mystery School was founded in 1997 by making the teachings and path of initiation of the Lineage of King Salomon available to the pubic. Twenty years later, in 2017,  there were enough highly trained initiates that leadership could expand from one man, to two independent leadership bodies: The Third Order, and the Council of 12 Women. These two complementary leadership bodies work together to maintain the purpose, mission and direction of the Modern Mystery School as well as daily operations to support thousands of initiates located all over the world.

Cult

Is it a cult?

No, the Modern Mystery School is not a cult. But we do have a culture. Our culture's values align with the belief that we (all of humanity) are all one. We are inherently good, deserving of compassion and kindness. We are also sovereign, destined to remember our sovereignty; and meditation is one of the essential keys to attaining this. We believe in the necessary foundation of gratitude, honor, in the cornerstones of family and health, in merit and worthiness. Most especially, we believe that all individuals have free will and therefore must hone the skill of discernment to use their free will to create a good life.

If we are not a cult, then what is a cult? To apply a label, we must first agree on the definition. The word 'cult' has been popularized to have a negative, dangerous, and derogatory connotation, perhaps even implying that the cult members have a markedly low sense of self, willpower, or intelligence and that the cult leaders are egotistical maniacs operating on purely evil agendas.

When we look at the broad defining terms of a cult, however- loyalty or shared devotion to a particular person, idea, or ritual - we quickly see that this can easily define a healthy family,  fan base, religion, activist movement, military, or any profession. Medical doctors share an allegiance to the Hippocratic Oath; fans share a fanaticism for a particular team, musician, etc; activists share a devotion to a particular ideology. Usually, these lead to a shared identity, camaraderie, and belonging. None of these are inherently evil. They are a shared culture that can exist on a wide spectrum from healthy to unhealthy.

People have a natural proclivity to join a community; we are, after all, communal beings. We naturally form groups based on a sense of belonging and form hierarchies within those groups. So where is the defining line between a community and a cult? This delineation is usually individual, based on how a person expresses their relationship to the culture. For example, we've seen boisterous groups of sports teams turn into violent mobs. For this reason, it is important that any culture have a very clear and well-defined set of values, core beliefs, and a mission statement, such as the medical doctor's Hippocratic Oath. You can find Modern Mystery School's core values here and its mission statement here

religion

Is it a religion?

No, Modern Mystery School is not a religion. Religions are based on dogma or a rigid belief system that must be believed and followed in order to be considered part of the religion. Modern Mystery School has no such dogma; there is no set of beliefs that you must believe or employ to be part of Modern Mystery School. All students are welcome and encouraged to question everything that is taught, to employ their own discernment, and not follow anything presented based on blind faith. As knowledge is presented, we do encourage students to have an open mind, to consider what is being offered to them, and consider "if this were true, what would it mean for my life/ the world." It is through this expansion of thought that students often come to their own conclusions based on their own understanding gained through application. As such, Modern Mystery School is based heavily on personal direct experience as opposed to blind faith.
